DDW Expands Sessions in Spanish

DDW strives to create sessions designed to facilitate career development, disease awareness and networking opportunities for GIs around the world. There will be several sessions conducted in Spanish. Besides the Meet the Professor Luncheons, the sessions listed below are free, but you must be registered for DDW to attend. If you’re already registered for DDW, you can add ticketed sessions to your registration in the DDW Registration Resource Center.

Meet the Professor/Investigator Luncheon (M07)
Topic: Management of Hepatitis C (In Spanish)
Presenter: Hugo Vargas, MD
Date: May 17, 2015, from 12:30 PM to 1:45 p.m.
Fee: $75

Learning Objectives:

  1. The attendee will have the opportunity to discuss the latest recommendations for treatment of Hepatitis C.
  2. All oral HCV treatment will be discussed with attention to the differences for various genotypes.
  3. Special groups such as transplant recipients and renal failure patients with HCV will be discussed.
  4. An overview of the future of HCV treatment will be covered.

Los objetivos de esta sesión serán:

  1. El participante tendrá la oportunidad de discutir las más recientes recomendaciones para el tratamiento de la hepatitis C.
  2. Los regímenes orales para el tratamiento del VHC con se discutirán con la atención a las diferencias entre los varios genotipos.
  3. Se discutirán los grupos especiales, como los recipientes de trasplante hepático  y los pacientes con insuficiencia renal con VHC.
  4. Una visión general del futuro del tratamiento del VHC será cubierta.

  1. Review the management of biologics and immunomodulators in IBD.
  2. Discuss the treatment of steroid-dependent ulcerative moderated colitis.
  3. Assess the side effects of therapy for IBD.

  1. Exponer el manejo de biológicos e inmunomoduladores en EII.
  2. Explicar el tratamiento de colitis moderada corticoide-dependiente.
  3. Evaluar los efectos secundarios de la terapia para EII.
